It is the year 2030 and Oliver Rose is a sixteen year old teenager living in the town of Transcona which makes up the larger city of Winnipeg, Canada. His father is a violent drunk, his sister is the high school whore, his mother loves her son but is far to naive and afraid to leave their father.
On their way to a party one night Oliver and his friend Madge meet two girls on a hill. Oliver becomes involved with Saphyre, the rocker chick with the wild eyes. Together they realize they have much in common when it comes to home life and they confide in each other. Little does young Oliver know, the seventeen year old Saphyre is about to bring him on a wild gripping adventure through the Canadian wilderness as they escape from everything they've ever known and pursued by everyone who wants them home safe, and some who don't.
They soon realize all they have is each other in this modern world. Or do they even have that?
